Chapter 9

The week before, Kit had convinced Mick to let her wash his hair as she had in the woods. The idea involved him sitting in a few inches of bathwater for as long as it took to wash and rinse his hair. Even though she knew Mick wanted to overcome his water issues, she realized he had agreed mainly to please her.

The first couple of times were tense. Kit had tried to keep him occupied with conversation, but he had kept drifting off into the past. Then a brilliant idea struck her. Instead of sitting outside the tub, she would get in with him…naked.

Even though he was in water, Mick had to smirk when she climbed in the tub. He was sitting sideways with his legs crossed. She settled at his side, shampoo and rinsing cup ready. She chattered away like before, but couldn’t help noticing how his eyes kept cutting aside to watch her breasts bounce as she worked the shampoo into his hair.

Luckily, he did not see her grin. Her idea was working. While he was still tense, he definitely wasn’t having a flashback. The next part was trickier, since he had to tilt his head back as she rinsed.

“Give me your hand,” she instructed and then placed it on her breast. “There. Hold on until I’m done.”

Mick actually barked out a laugh. While in water. Kit suddenly felt ten feet tall.

They continued to make progress, and soon Mick could stay in the bath long enough for a quick wash, too. Kit was certain they would someday graduate to showering.
